On 4 - 7 October Power Agency had a pleasure to organize the trip to Spain for the employees and distributors of the company SCA Hygiene. Participation in the showpiece regatta of the prestigious round-the-world boat race - Volvo Ocean Race was the climactic attraction of the event. A boat sponsored by the company SCA Hygiene participates in it. The start of the race took place in Alicante, where in the harbour due to the race a special village - Volvo Ocean Village was built. In the village there was a pavilion devoted to the SCA boat. It is worth mentioning that the SCA team is the first ever team made up entirely of women. It consists of 14 women coming from various parts of the world.

Almost one hundred people from Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia participated in the trip. Moreover in the Volvo Ocean Village during the festive dinner, two groups from Hungary and Greece joined us. In total about 140 people.

Incentive Excursion for the distributors of the company SCA with Power Agency

On the first day individual groups from different countries flew with Lufthansa to Valencia in Spain. After checking in at the hotel, we took some rest in the hotel rooms where beforehand personalized gifts used for marking particular groups had been delivered (T-shirts, polartec jackets, Helly Hansen caps with official inscriptions Volvo Ocean Race, bearing the colours of the SCA team taking part in the race). In the afternoon we visited the famous City of Arts and Sciences (Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias) in Valencia and the local oceanarium. The local oceanarium is one of the biggest and most spectacular objects of this type in the world. The crowning element of the event was an unusual show of acrobatic skills of dolphins. During the supper we had a chance to try appetizers and traditional Spanish dishes. The official welcome and the award ceremony for the best distributors were the evening’s main features. The winners were honoured with the participation in the showpiece race along with the SCA boat crew.

The next day groups of distributors and employees of the company SCA Hygiene from Hungary and Greece joined us. After the conference at the hotel Porta Maris we sailed around the port in Alicante to observe the showpiece race. During the three-hour sea trip with lunch the presentation of particular teams participating in the race took place, as well as two showpiece port races in which the the SCA team took respectively first and third place. Honourable places aroused daydreams about grabbing a good spot on the podium in the Volvo Ocean Race. After the completion of the race we visited the Volvo village along with the SCA pavilion, where we had a chance to meet the Volvo team members participating in the race. In the evening we had supper at the port of Alicante. During the festive supper a flamenco show was presented which inspired the participants to sing and dance. Later they were rewarded with thunderous applause. In accordance with accepted customs in Spain the party lasted till late night hours.

The next day of the stay in Spain, the group spent some time getting to know the culture and attraction of the Alicante region. We began with visiting the St Barbara Castle in Alicante, where we could admire the stunning panorama of the city from the Costa Blanca. Then we went to Villena to visit one of the biggest vineyards of the region and learn more about wine-growing and wine production. At the end of our touring we were supposed to taste some local wines made there. We had lunch in the courtyard of the vineyard, where the menu included typical regional dishes (among other things rabbit and chicken gazpacho and meat soup). After the visit in the vineyard no one could miss gifts – each participant of the event got a bottle of local wine packaged in a specially prepared container with the logo of the company.

In the evening at the hotel, during the supper the official closing ceremony took place.
