Natasza Caban: My dreams
We and our dreams... It happens that the desires and feelings that arise inside us are so strong, beautiful and daring that they seem to take the control over our lives and push us towards the unknown. „Every one of us has the right to dream differently”, almost anyone would like to seek in his life his „Own Legend”. Yet, not everyone has enough courage to check the strength of their dreams, to try to fulfil them, and finally to find the hidden paths which one could take in order to follow His/Her Own Legend. I think I have always entertained a strong conviction that it is the possibility to fulfil the dreams, even those most improbable, that makes our lives so interesting. Will you agree with me?
My personal experience proves that Paulo Coelho was right saying that the world belongs to people who are courageous enough to dream and to risk in order to fulfil those dreams; to those who try to do it the best way they can in the meantime bearing mind the fact that the first step towards killing our dreams in the Lack of Time, the second one is the Confidence, and finally the third one is the Peace of Mind.
I strongly believe that if the past does not satisfy us, we should forget about it. Then we should make up a different story of our lives and believe in it. Even though defeats happen and it is impossible to avoid them, it is better to lose the battle about our dreams than to be defeated and not to know what we were fighting for.
My head is full of dreams and I have enough strength to decide to covert them into aims which I later stubbornly try to achieve. One of the biggest ones is to sail single-handedly around the world. Why? Why not? Ocean gives me this feeling of desired freedom but at the same time it allows me to get to lands new for me and make new friendships.
Solitary sailing is not only fighting the nature but also checking myself and looking for the limits of my capabilities. I think that the most important thing about dreaming is sharing the joy of fulfilling them with the other people, especially with those who will not be able to set off into a far journey just like me. So you know my answer to the question „why”? I feel to be a lucky woman and I can't really ask for more. When we do what we really love, we have a chance to fulfil dreams of at least one disabled child. And this is what makes it really worth while. Tell yourself!
After ceasing my single-hand voyage I am planning some other interesting projects – dreams which I would like to put into life; but I will tell you about them next time. Today I hope that you will be with me during my around the world journey and you will keep your fingers crossed for my and „Tanasza's” success. It is not always easy but definitely it is always beautiful.
